The Congress has dared the BJD and the BJP to respond to the issues concerning the people of the State raised by AICC president Rahul Gandhi with data during the elections.
“During his Friday’s visit to Bargarh, Rahul Gandhi raised various problems being faced by people of Odisha and held the BJD and its erstwhile partner BJP responsible. Gandhi’s visits have panicked both the parties. They should respond to issues raised by him in the public with appropriate data,” said PCC Media Cell chief Satya Prakash Nayak, senior Congress leader Panchanan Kanungo and party’s State vice-president Aryakumar Jnanendra at a Press conference here.
They said issues of acute unemployment problem, lying of over 1.5 lakh posts in different Government offices, Government’s failure in returning money to chit fund depositors and occurrence of mining scam of over Rs 60,000 crore need to be clarified in the public by both the BJD and the BJP as they had ruled the State together for nine years.
Stating that many developmental and employment-oriented projects had been set up during the Congress rule, Kanungo blamed the Naveen Patnaik for closure of the Orissa Textile Mills and over 15,000 small and medium industries.
Among others, spokesperson Ashok Samal, Prashant Satpathy and Deepak Mahapatra were present.
