Basing on the inquiry report submitted by Additional District Magistrate laxmidhar Mohanty, Cuttack Collector Nirmal Mishra on Thursday suspended the warden of Nuapada-based Blind School Pradeep Kumar Pal for dereliction of duty.
Pal is the third employee of the school to be suspended after the death of a blind boy of the school, who died drowning in a pond close to the school hostel. The Collector had earlier suspended the headmistress and an attendant of the school. But the warden had escaped the axe earlier for he was allegedly given protection by some senior officers of the district.
It may be mentioned that the body of the blind boy Bhagirathy Dash (15) of Bhadrak district was found floating in the pond on Monday after he reportedly went missing from the school on Sunday afternoon.
