In another sting operation for the erring doctors of the VIMSAR Burla, its new Director Prof Aswini Pujahari caught red-handed a doctor who was treating patients at his residence during the duty hours at the hospital.
Dr Goutam Satapathy of the Orthopaedics Department on Saturday was found busy in private practice in clear dereliction of duty.
Prof Pujahari came to know that Dr Satpathy was not in the department during the duty hour. He further got it ascertained that he was treating the patients at his residence neglecting his prime duty.
Then, impersonating himself as a patient, he reached Dr Satapathy’s house between 12 noon and 1 m and caught Satapathy red-handed in action even as some patients were waiting for him. However, on seeing the Director, the patients fled the place but Dr Pujahari video-graphed the entire incident.
Immediately, he served show cause notice to the erring doctor asking him to give his reply within 48 hours.
Earlier, on July 9, Pujahari had caught Dr BB Panda of Radio-Diagnosis department while he was working in a private nursing home during the duty hours.
The action of the new Director has been well appreciated by the sincere doctors of VIMSAR and public at large.
