Even as the Samjajpur railway over-bridge (ROB) repair work has not started, yet another allegation of substandard work of road over-bridge from Malatipatapur to Puri-Konark Road, which was built last year during the Nabakalebar Rath Yatra, has come to the fore, much to the worry of people of the State when the annual Rath Yatra is fast approaching.
The road over-bridge, which was built by the Works Department and inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on June 4 last year, has developed cracks, and potholes exposing the poor quality work of the road.
Further due to lack of supervision and proper maintenance, people have expressing fear to ply on the over bridge which now needs an urgent repair.
Since many people would depend on the road during the Rath Yatra scheduled next month, the Government should take up the repair work to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, traffic has been diverted near the Samjajpur ROB and experts inspected the damaged bridge on Sunday. Repair work would start soon.
