Kandhamal district is once again in the news for similar wrong reasons as a 15-year-old girl has allegedly been impregnated by a relative in the Brahmanigaon area. As per a police complaint lodged by the father of the Class-X girl, a student of a private English medium school in Jharsuguda, she had come to her village in Brahmanigaon during the Puja vacation last year when she was ill and she was unable to go back to school. On Saturday, she complained of uneasiness, following which her father took her to the Mohana hospital, where doctor revealed that she is six-month pregnant. The girl’s family has alleged that she was impregnated by a relative in the village. Police started investigation into the matter after registering a case on the basis of the complaint. It may be recalled that another minor girl student had delivered a baby at a residential school in Daringbadi of the district a few days ago.
