Yet another case of land grab was slapped against former MlA Ramesh Jena and four of his associates at the Brahmapur Sadar police on Saturday.
District SP Asish Singh told reporters here that the case was filed on the basis of an FIR filed by a Radhakant Mutt trustee.
“Ramesh Jena and his aides, his father Arakhita Jena, R Murali Mohan, Sai Patnaik and Rajib Tripathy have forcefully occupied around four acres of land belonging to Radhakant Mutt in Bhabinipur mouza and sold it under a plotted scheme,” said Singh.
This is the second such case where temple lands were allegedly grabbed by Jena.
While multiple allegations of land grab have been reported against the former Sanakhemundi Congress MlA, police have again moved the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court here to take Jena on a seven-day fresh remand to interrogate him to establish his involvement in other cases.
On April 13 too, a land-grab case was lodged at the Sadar police station against Jena, his father Arakhita Jena, BMC Corporator R Murali Mohan, a builder Buna Sahu and Kiran Panda 13 on charges of forcibly grabbing four acres of temple land in Nimakhandi and Borigaon and undertaking construction on the same.
