Pita Nag, a farmer of Jampada village under Bangomunda block, consumed pesticide on Tuesday evening in his cotton field. He was found unconscious by his family members and admitted to the Mission Hospital at Khariar in Nuapada district. Pita died on Wednesday morning in the hospital.

"Pita had cultivated cotton in three acres of land, which grew weak due to scanty rainfall. He had gone to spray pesticide in the fields. As he did not return till late evening, we went to the field and found him in unconscious state," said Pita's brother.

Meanwhile, BJP Krushak Morcha State president Ganeswar Sahu along with secretaries Manas Ranjan Dash and Jadumani Panigrahi and Sanjay Tiwari visited Khirmal village of Boden block and talked to the villagers and family members of Dharmu Ada, who died on Monday consuming pesticide.
