Another distressed farmer of Dhenkanal district, who had been admitted in the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack in a critical condition two days ago, died on Friday. The deceased farmer, Pandit Samal, a resident of Kunua village under Hindol block had consumed poison in house two days ago reportedly under crop loss and loan burden pressure.
Family members said since the paddy crop that he had cultivated by taking loan from moneylenders got damaged, he was in severe mental stress.
As he did not find any alternative to repay the loan, he consumed poison to end life, family members said.
