The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday registered yet another extortion case against the arrested Dhalsamant brothers and one of their absconding associates Tapan Routray alias Kulu.
With this, the number cases registered against the mafia brothers Sushant and Sushil went up to 17 after their arrests on January 28.
“The Markat Nagar Police have registered the case under Sections 386, 387 and 34 of IPC on the basis of a written complaint filed by a works contractor Sushant Kumar Swain,” informed Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora.
The contractor has alleged that the Dhalsamant brothers with their associate Kulu had demanded and taken `15 lakh from him in January this year. The amount was three per cent of the cost of the two work tenders the contractor was recently awarded, Arora informed.
