Another depression over Bay of Bengal, say Met officials

Published on:

After three consecutive cyclonic storms hit the Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast, another depression has been formed over southwest Bay of Bengal and lay centred at 8.30 am on Friday near about 1020 km south of Gopalpur and 530 km southeast of Chennai, said local Met officials here on Friday.

It would intensify further into a deep depression during next 24 hours and subsequently into a cyclonic storm, said the Met officials and added that it would move nearly northwards slowly during next 48 hours and then recurve north-northeastwards.

Weather would be mainly dry over Odisha. No severe impacts have been predicted yet by the weathermen.
