After Jaga and Kalia of Kandhamal district, another conjoined twin has been born. They are girls joined by heart and stomach.
The twin girls were delivered at the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital by one Renubala Behera, wife of Pradip Behera who is a resident of Khalpal village under Parjang block.
Pradip, the twin babies’ father, said though Renunala had undergone ultrasound test at the same hospital in Dhenkanal, they were never told of the matter by the doctors.
Renunala was admitted to the DHH on Monday morning following labour pain. The newborn twins are stated to be in good condition. However, they have been referred to Sishu Bhawan, Cuttack, for further treatment.
Notably, two years ago, conjoined twins Jaga and Kalia, attached at head, were successfully separated at AIIMS in New Delhi. They are now undergoing post-surgery treatment at country’s premier medical institution.
