Revenue Inspector, Jarapada, Angul, Gokula Chandra Pradhan was arrested on Wednesday for taking a bribe of Rs 1,500 from Ramachandra Behera of Durgapur, Jarapada.
He demanded the money for submission of verification reports to Executive Magistrate, Angul regarding death of his grandfather and his uncle (elder brother of his father) for release of their death certificates.
Accordingly, a trap was laid and Pradhan was caught red-handed at his office. His residential house at Golabandha, Nisha, Angul was searched and a case registered.
