The district administration of Angul will go tough against the violators of polythene ban law.
In a meeting on October 10, Angul Collector Anil Kumar Samal warned to take action against the offenders who use, store and manufacture polythene and thermo cool items in the three municipal towns of the district such as Angul, Talcher and Athamalik. Because tonnes and tonnes of plastic garbage are collected daily by the municipal authorities of Angul, Talcher and Athamalik areas, these wastes are not managed properly by these town authorities.
All the executive officers were directed to aware people of not using polythene in their areas.
A special squad was formed by the authorities of municipalities, police, Health and Pollution Control Board to check and seize polythene from the producers, sellers and users and take action against the offenders.
Among others, ADM Tapan Kumar Satapathy, PD DRDA Atulya Kumar Champati Ray, CDMO Sibaprasad Parhi and Angul Sub Collector Basudev Satapathy were present.
