The Vigilance on Wednesday traced nearly Rs 1 crore assets of a peon working at the JE office, RWSS Section at Pallahara in Angul district.
Basing on the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, Cuttack Vigilance sleuths raided peon Jitendra Panda’s building at Udaypur in Pallahara, his residential parental house at Badaolara under Rajnagar police station in Kendrapada, father-in-law’s house at Udaypur Sahi and his office room.
During search, the movable and immovable assets found include two plots of land at Batisuan and Pallahara in the name of his wife Sashmita Panda of Rs 4 lakh, one double storied building at Udaypur of Rs 29,20,800, deposits in different banks of Rs 32,80,513, household articles of Rs 3,96,710, gold ornaments of Rs 1,95,000, hard cash of Rs 2,990, Innova Car of Rs 13,37,549, Bolero pick up van of Rs 6,40,903, besides a Hero Honda CBZ motor cycle. His total assets were estimated to be Rs 97, 32, 218.
