Angul district Collector Sachin R Yadav stressed upon internet use of Odia language to make it more popular and accessible. Inaugurating the Classical Odia language Day celebration here on Wednesday, Yadav urged for extensive use of Odia language, correct pronunciation and using the language in all official works.
The meeting, which was coordinated by Dr Indira Das, was also addressed by Prof Kumuda Ch Dash, Prof Santanu Sar, Angul DIPRO SC Sethi, Prof Minaketan Purohit, Dr Kulamani Nayak and Radhakanta Mohanty. The speakers highlighted the glorious history and heritage of Odia language and called upon the people to cherish the language and preserve it.
Attending the celebration, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said love for mother tongue is very essential, which would help popularise the language not only in Odisha but also outside the State.
