Torch rallies were held on March 19 simultaneously from the lord Siva temple of Deuljhari under Athamalik, the Khuludi under Pallahara, the Satakosia under Tikarapada, the three mythological and tourist places of Angul, with slogans like ‘Save Girl Child, Educate Girl Child’ and ‘Save Tree , Save life.’
The rallies were taken out for the Angul District Mahotsav and Foundation Day which will start from April 1 at the Angul stadium. It is after a gap of five years that the festival will be held again.
The rally reached at the Maa Hingula Pitha on Sunday afternoon where Talcher Sub collector Shyamabhakta Mishra welcomed the participants. Folk dances and music were performed. A felicitation meeting was too arranged by Angul district Collector Anil Kumar Samal. Samal thanked every body for successful completion of the rallies.
Among others, Pallahara MlA and Angul District Planning Committee Chairperson MahashSahoo, Talcher MlA Brajakishore Pradhan, DRDA PD Abanikanta Pattanaik, Angul Sub Collector Sarajkanti Mohanty, Pallahara Sub Collector Tapankumar Satapathy and Athamalik Sub Collector Dr Dibyalochan Mohanta were present.
