Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested Nisha Industrial police station ASI Chittaranjan Sahoo for demanding illegal gratification of Rs15,000 from Abinash Nath of Tangir under Chhendipada PS to release his cell phone.
Acting on a complaint lodged by Nath, the Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught the ASI red-handed taking Rs 15,000 from the complaint in front of the main gate of the Jindal Steel Plant.
Sahoo’s house
at Buxibazar, Cuttack and his residential quarter at Angul were searched. A sum of Rs 1,81,980 was recovered from his residential house
at Angul.
