In the present era of digitisation, the Anganwadi Workers would be provided tablets and phones for collecting the records in rural areas.
The tablets and phones would be distributed among them under the National Nutrition Mission (NNM), also known as POSHAN Abhiyaan, launched by Prime Minister Modi on the International Women’s Day on March 8.
A common application software has been prepared by the Centre; and the scheme would be implemented in 25 districts of Odisha in the initial phase, informed a senior Health Department official. With the initiative, the data recorded by the Anganwadi Workers can be digitized, he said.
Earlier, the records were kept in the block offices. With digitisation of the records collected by the Anganwadi Workers through tablets and phones, the data would be saved in the main server.
However, no exact date has been confirmed for distribution of tablets and phones to the Anganwadi Workers, the official said.
Besides, the Chief Minister Women Empowerment scheme is all set to be launched in Odisha from June 15. The scheme would be implemented through the Mission Shakti at the grassroots level, he added.
