The people of remote areas in Gajapati district were affected by the bandh call in Andhra Pradesh on the declaration of Telangana as a separate State.
As the people of AP resumed their agitation from Monday, the vehicular movement was affected. Buses plying from Parlakhemundi to different places including Palasa, Srikakulam, Bijaynagaram and Visakhapatnum remained off the roads, while the commuters were stranded. The residents of Gajapati district also felt the cascading effect of the bandh after they failed to get essential commodities in the market.
