After darshan in Puri amid tight security
Reliance Group Chairman Mukesh Ambani during his visit to the Shreemandir on Monday offered invitation card to the deities to attend his daughter Isha’s marriage ceremony.
Spending almost 20 minutes inside the shrine, he returned to Bhubaneswar by air. As he was a State guest, the Puri police had made elaborate security arrangement for Ambani, India’s richest business tycoon, in the pilgrim town.
At about 3pm, Ambani landed in Puri Talabania helipad from a helicopter and amid tight security went to the Jagannath Temple.
He was received at the Lions Gate by Puri Collector Jyoti Prakash Dash. Puri SP Sarthank Sarangi and some higher officials of the temple were present.
His ancestral Panda (priest) led him to the Bhitrakatha (inner cordon) of the sanctum sanctorum for darshan of the deities. Ambani handed over the invitation card with flowers to the servitors on duty and offered prayer there.
Before departure from the shrine, he interacted with some servitors about the history of the temple.
At the Lions Gate, he said to reporters that he felt blessed and fortunate to view the Lords on the podium.
According to sources, Ambani is said to have donated a big money to the temple Hundi although the amount is unknown.
