Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu has nominated BJD member Dr Amar Patnaik to be a member of the Samsad (court) of the Visva Bharati, Shantiniketan and Sriniketan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the Chancellor of the Visva Bharati University, established by Nobel laureate Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore.
Notably, Dr Patnaik is among the most educated serving members of the Parliament. He is an expert in public finance and had held top posts in Public Accounting and Auditing under the CAG. He is also the IT chief of the BJD.
“It is an honour and I look forward to the engagement,” said Dr Patnaik.
