Supporters of Janaki Ballav Patnaik in the State Congress went gaga when he arrived here on Thursday after the end of his tenure as the Governor of Assam.
JB’s followers greeted him at the airport here with show of placards and rural band parties playing music. And an overwhelmed Patnaik declared, “I am in politics and will remain politics.” His statement was lapped up by his supporters, who want him to lead the State party once again. He also told media that he would visit all over the State to make the public aware about the State’s present political and administrative situation.
In an obvious reference to Niranjan Patnaik’s abrupt ouster as the PCC president by the party high command only a few months before the last general elections, JB Patnaik said such moves do not help the party as was evident from the poll results.
