Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday said he is in favour of establishing two High Court Benches in western and southern parts of the State. This would help people of these regions get justice at the earliest, he said.

He was addressing the 42nd All Odisha lawyers’ Conference at Jajpur Road.He said despite many successes, the future of the State’s development rests mainly on rapid industrialisation.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Ananga Kumar Patnaik of the Supreme Court stated establishment of High Court Benches in western and southern Odisha is urgently needed. Many States have separate High Court Benches, he added.

Speaking at the All Odisha Field Revenue Field Officers’ Association’s conference at Jajpur, the Chief Minister criticised the opposition parties for trying to scuttle the State’s industrialisation. This is because if industrialisation advances in the State under the BJD Government then the opposition would cease to exist, he remarked.

The meeting was also addressed by Revenue Minister SN Patro and former Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai.
