Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) president Pyarimohan Mohapatra has sought Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s intervention in allotment to his party a suitable place to hold his party’s Samavesh on June 12 in Brahmapur.
In a letter to Patnaik, Mohapatra said, “On February 24, we had sought permission of the MKCG Medical College and Hospital authorities to hold a Samavesh of 50,000 people on March 22 at the MKCG ground.
“But we were denied permission. later, we sought the permission of the Khalikote College management to use the college field. Interestingly, after getting the application, the principal went on leave forcing us to apply for the Hinjili High School ground. But citing cultural programmes, the school management and the district administration denied us permission though a Bhagabat Parayan was scheduled to begin form March 24 to 28,” Pyari said in the letter.
“Since the monsoon is fast approaching and it is scheduled to March 22, Samavesh has already been deferred by two months,
“I request you to kindly allot us a suitable place either on the MKCG ground or the Hinjili High School ground within seven days for the June 12 Samavesh without any political intention and fear,” Mohapatra said.
