A workshop on child protection mechanism was jointly organised here on Saturday by the Jharsuguda district administration and the District Child Welfare Committee.
Inaugurating the workshop, State Child Rights Safety Commission member Rajendra Meher urged both Government and private agencies to be more careful about childcare and safety and promote social awareness on it.
In her speech, Jharsuguda SP S Shyni discussed various provisions of the POCSO Act 2013 for the child protection. ADM BG Acharya sought cooperation from all sectors to prevent child labour and child marriage and to ensure equal rights to children.
UNICEF Child Protection Specialist laxminarayan Nanda exchanged views about child development with the participants.
