The Union Government has decided to cover all schools across the country under the e-learning programme by 2018, said Rotary district governor Rajendra Chowdhury here on Saturday. The e-education programme focuses on three major components, infrastructure development, child development and immunisation and promotion of e-learning in every school in the country.
The e-learning scheme consists of a computer, projector and a screen at the total cost of Rs40,000, which can be reduced further by adopting modern gadgets, informed Chowdhury, adding that a Pune-based organisation is going to develop software in all major Indian languages within next six months. Notably, after successful eradication of polio from India, the Rotary International has been involved in the Union Government’s programme for eradication of illiteracy from the country and entire South Asia. The programme was launched on December 14, 2013 in New Delhi. Besides, Rotary Club president Rajendra Pansari announced that his family would undertake renovation work of the Dharmashala near the hospital.
