The students, who pursued Class-IX at Odia medium schools in 2019-20 academic year, would be eligible to appear for the annual High School Certificate Examination this year in May, announced the State Government on Tuesday.
As schools in the State remained closed since March 2020 due to the Covid pandemic, the Class-IX students were unable to sit for the annual exam for class promotion.
The Government further added it has directed schools to hold special classes for the Class-IX students.
The Government allowed schools to reopen for Classes-X and XII students from January adhering to the Covid guidelines. The Class-XI students from 2019-20 academic year would be allowed to sit for the Plus II exam in May.
