The Biridi police on Saturday arrested Alaka College lecturer Biswajit Ray on the charge of molesting a Plus Three student and presented him in the Jagatsinghpur SDJM Court. However, he was released on bail. The student had lodged a complaint against the lecturer in this regard.
Three days ago, members of the Students’ Congress had alleged that police and a few leaders of the BJD were protecting the lecturer and demanded his immediate arrest. However, many other students led by student’s union president Pranab Ranjan Prusty had described the allegation against Ray as false. They had too held a protest meeting.
