The Akshaya Patra Foundation, a nonprofit organisation, was awarded with the Gold Shield and Hall of Fame awards by the Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI) for its excellence in financial reporting during 2012-13 in the category XI- Not-for-Profit Sector.
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tiwari and Delhi High Court Judge Justice GS Sistani gave the awards at a function held in New Delhi on Thursday.
“The governance philosophy of the foundation refers to a set of regulations and good practices that enabled us to maintain transparency, accountability and create value for all our stakeholders,” said foundation cshairman Madhu Pandit Dasa.
