The Sahitya Akademi organised a seminar on ‘Gandhi and Odia literature’ at the PPT Officers’ Club on Sunday.
The welcome address was given by Gautam Paul, office in-charge of Sahitya Akademi Kolkata. PPT FA and CAO SK Sahoo inaugurated the function.
The chief guest was eminent Odia writer Bibhuti Patnaik. Among others Odia writer Rabi Swain and Akademi Odia Advisory Board convenor Gourahari Das were present. Bana Prabha Parida, Dr Santosh Samal and Sriman Narayan Mishra read their papers.
laxmi Chand, lipika Das, Maheshwata Sahoo, Mousumi Parida, Sharmistha Sahoo read own poetry. In the evening, a programme called “‘Aviskar”’ was held by Banamali Moharana and group. local poets, writers, teachers and journalists attended. The guests were presented with mementos by Canmass secretary Sriman Narayan Mishra.
