Ajit Tripathy's Geeta Vani Volume Five unveiled

The Fifth Volume of the Srimad Bhagabad Geeta Vani authored by Ajit Tripathy was dedicated to the general readers at a simple but solemn function here at the Rotary Bhawan on Wednesday evening.

Minister for Energy and I&PR Arun Sahu joined as the chief guest while noted Sanskrit scholar Dr Krushna Keshab Sarangi was the chief speaker on the occasion. Former Additional Chief Secretary Rabinrayan Senapati was a special invitee while Prof Sanghamitra Mishra, Faculty of the Department of Odia language and literature of Utkal University, was the guest of honour.

Arun Sahu eulogised Ajit Tripathy, presently State Election Commissioner, for continuing his untiring efforts in bringing out five publications of the Geeta Vani in the common language of the people for the larger benefit of the community, his (Tripathy’s) multifarious engagements notwithstanding.

“The messages of the Bhagabad Geeta and Srimad Bhagabat are indispensable for all generations of our society if we are to defend the future of our culture and civilisation,” Sahu maintained. “The message of the Geeta is emphatic and eternally pragmatic and practical and vibrant through which a human being may overcome his or her dilemma like Arjuna overcoming his conflicts after having listened to the divine discourses of the Geeta from lord Krishna; Sahu summed up.

Dr Sarangi observed that Tripathy has rendered a yeoman’s job by rendering the Geeta Vani through a language spoken by men to men.

He picked up an example of Tripathy’s interpretation of man in his book that God had granted us the human form only to realise Him and that a man makes his life really worth living when he merges and mingles with God through human life only. The interpretations of Shraddha, Rati and Bhakti by the writer deserve special attention, Dr Sarangi opined.

RN Senapati appreciated the endeavour of the author for such publications as Geeta Vani that for the benefit of common readers. Prof Sanghamitra Mishra prescribed reading of the Geeta by quoting Ruchu naruchu khaa pita, Bujh nabujh padh Geeta.

Former administrator Digambar Mohanty presided over the meeting.

The book is a slender volume having over 200 pages available with publisher Student Store, Cuttack with a simple but aesthetic getup.
