AIR, B’pur helps migrants via social bodies

At a time when thousands of Odia people are stranded outside the State owing to the lockdown, the All India Radio (AIR), Brahmapur has been trying to counsel and alleviate their pain with the help of different social organisations across the country.

The AIR also aired works and plans done by different organisations outside the State, including Government units, to help the stranded people. “It has helped the families of the stranded people to know the condition of their friends and relatives amid the lockdown,” said station Programme Head Hrusikesh Panigrahy.

“Though the stranded people keep in touch with their family members through phones, they cannot ask their families to assist them in any manner from a different place. This is why we have highlighted the phone numbers of officials of some Odia organisations through the programme. After placing a request over phone, the volunteers of the organizations will come forward to help them,” added Panigrahy.
