The Outpatient Department (OPD) of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar would be closed from Friday (July 10) until further orders, informed Director Gitanjali Batmanabane on Thursday.
“Some patients and staffers of the hospital have tested positive for Covid-19. This apart, some employees are coming from Covid containment zones. In view of the shortage of staffers, we have decided to close the walk-in OPD services until further notice,” she said.
However, patients can contact the doctors through telemedicine service. A mobile phone application namely ‘AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthya’ would be launched on Friday in this regard, she said.
Casualty and emergency services would continue at the AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, she added.
