AIDSO decries police action on Jamia students

Published on:

All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) members held a demonstration at College Square here on Monday against the lathicharge by the Delhi police on the agitating students of Jamia Millia Islamia University in New Delhi on Sunday.

The agitators alleged that the police resorted to firing tear gas shells and rained lathis on the peaceful demonstrators, due to which scores of students were injured.

They alleged that the BJP-led Central Government is implementing several discriminatory laws, which is leading to agitations by the students. The Government is crushing these agitations by using police force. The organisation members urged the people to protest against it.

Among others, AIDSO vice-president Tarunsen Nayak, secretary Binod Sethy, Isa Dhar, Subhasmita Sahu, Amarendra Nayak and Saroj Mansingh were present.
