The All India Students’ Democratic Organisation (AIDSO) and the Student Congress organised protest meetings at different places here on Friday against the State Government’s decision of not holding Students’ Union polls in colleges and universities this year.
The AIDSO members led by its Ganjam unit president Shivani Shankar Mishra held a demonstration at Komapalli chhak. Alleging that the decision is against the democratic rights of the students, they demanded that the Government withdraw the diceison soon.
Secretary Nimain Charan Sahu, Narayan Sahu, Udhabv Mahananda, D Tirupati Dora, Ranjan Sethi, Kishan Sahu and Papun Sahu were present.
The Student Congress activists held a rally in the city and submitted a memorandum to the Revenue Divisoinal Commissioner seeking early withdrawal of the decision.
