The All India Agricultural labourers’ Association (AIAlA) Odisha State committee would hold a two-day national meet to address issues of agricultural labourers of the country.

National meet’s reception committee chairman Khitish Biswal said the State committee is organising such prestigious meet for the first time in Bhubaneswar. Around 1,000 delegates would attend the meet, he added.

The delegates would discuss about both the State and the Central Governments’ failure to address the issues of the agricultural labourers of the country.

Biswal said the Centre and the State have started a way to cheat the common people and farmers by acquiring their land by passing a draconian bill in the Parliament. The Governments are preparing a roadmap to destroy agrarian economy of the country, he charged.

“Every issue related to farmers and agricultural labourers will be discussed in the meet. We will raise our voice to stop Government’s hooliganism,” asserted Biswal.

CPI (Ml) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, social activist Dhirendra Jha, development economist Jean Dreze, human rights activists like Binayak Sen, Amit Bhaduri and Anuradha Talwar would attend the meet, Biswal informed.
