The passengers of the Ahmedabad-Puri Express had a close shave on Saturday night when the train brakes caught fire near the Maneswar railway station in Sambalpur district.
However, no casualty was reported in the incident. Reports said some passengers of the Puri-bound train first spotted the fire in the brakes and pulled the chain. Without making delay, the loco-pilot immediately stopped the train near the Maneswar station and informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) about the fire. RPF personnel rushed to the site and managed to control the fire before it spread to the train. All the passengers were said to be safe. A probe has been ordered into the incident.
