To promote holistic development of farmers through horticulture and allied enterprises, the Business Management Department of the Utkal University in association with the National Horticulture Board is all set to host a three-day national seminar cum expo, “Agri 4 Odisha” at the university campus from November 28 to 30.
“The event plans to expose farmer and agricultural entrepreneurs to latest technologies, developments and opportunities in horticultural crops, production technologies, post harvest management, produce marketing, allied enterprises, farm planning and management tools,” said Utkal University Vice Chancellor AK Das.
The programme is being supported by Horticulture, Agriculture and allied departments of State Government.
Most of these departments are expected to put up their stalls for dissemination of information to farmers and entrepreneurs. Besides, about 100 private agro-based companies, NGOs, cooperatives and farmer organisations will participate in the events.
This apart, there shall also be five technical sessions with panel discussion on horticultural technologies, practices, challenges and opportunities followed by question answers, added Das.
