The anniversary of Maharaj Agrasen was celebrated in a grand manner in Belpahar town on Wednesday.
A large procession of the Agarwal Samaj was taken out in front of Gumadera Jagannath Temple. A meeting was organised in the premises of the temple. The chief guest of the programme was former president Utkal Prantiya Marwari Yuwa Manch (UPMYM) Madhusudan Sharma.
Sharma said Maharaja Agrasen had brought a major social change by his revolutionary thoughts. He explained the importance of donating organs.
Assistant secretary UPMYM, Zone 4 Rajiv Sharma called upon people to follow Agrasen’s teachings. Among others, Belpahad Municipality Chairman Parshuram Sahu,Agrasen Sammitee president Bishwanath Agarwal and social activist Arjunlal Bondiya joined.
The winners of various competitions held earlier were awarded.
