Hemanta Khamania of Julunda village under the PBDA area of Pallahara block, who had taken a work order worth Rs 2 lakh for a repairing work of departmental building two years back, had not been paid the money. So, he was holding a stir, following which his bill was cleared recently.
PBDA JEE Rajesh Kumar Sahoo had not released payment to Khamania since long. Meanwhile, Sahoo was transferred from PBDA, Pallahara to Angul. Khamania appealed several times to the Sub-Collector-cum-Vice-Chairman of PBDA and the MLA Pallahara and the MP Dhenkanal for release of payment but to no avail.
On the contrary, he was harassed. Finally, he held a demonstration in front of the Sub-Collector office. Sub-Collector Ajit Pradhan deputed a team to probe case. New PBDA JEE Pati presented a cheque worth Rs 58,000 to Khamania at demonstration place in presence of police and the Tehsildar, after which Khamania withdrew his strike.
