Gross discrepancies in several schemes meant for the disabled people in Chhagaon village under Athagarh block are found.
On Tuesday one Hadibandhu Das whose all the five members in the family are disabled rushed to the office of the Sub-Collector and narrated his plight.
Hadibandhu showed his disabled certificates and of his family members in which Hadibandhu, his wife Savitri and only daughter Swarnaprava have been reflected 40 per cent disabled while eldest son Kedarnath 75 per cent and youngest son Sisir declared 30 per cent disabled. Three children in his family who read in nearby Utkalmani Bidyapith have not received any scholarship, he told. He also complained of not getting any Government benefit meant for the disabled.
Sub-Collector Harish Chandra Nayak asked block welfare extension officer to inquire into the matter and provide the benefits with immediate effect.
