Adulteration alleged against S'pur oil station

Published on:

lawyers of Sambalpur alleged to have got adulterated diesel from an oil filling station near Jail Khana Chowk. They also handed over the diesel to the Civil Supplies Officer (CSO) of Sambalpur, demanding stringent action against the offender.

As per information, the advocates brought 20 litre of diesel from a HP oil fling station to put it in the newly purchased generator of the court and the bar association. But they found that the diesel in the container was looking totally blue. Further, smell of kerosene was clear in the diesel they purchased from the pump.

“Immediately we went to the CSO and showed the diesel to him. We also asked him to take immediate action so that such illegal practice could be stopped,” said Pradeep Bahidar, a senior advocate. Such practice is also quite common in most of the petrol/diesel pumps of the district in connivance with the officials and the concerned petroleum companies, he alleged.

Bahidar and many other advocates further demanded to find to source from which the petrol/diesel pump owners are getting kerosene for adulteration.

The matter of adulteration in a petrol pump situated within a distance of just one km from all VIPs of the district including the Collector, SP, CSO and many others has been a talk of the town.
