The Kandhamal district administration on Thursday assured all help to a poor meritorious girl, Karishma Diggal, of Bahumalaha village in Balliguda block in the district, to continue her higher studies after her plight was highlighted in the media.
Karishma had secured A1 grade in the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination with 91 per cent marks. But she couldn’t pursue Plus Two Science course due to poor financial condition of her family.
Her father Senapati Diggal, a daily labourer, was unable to afford the admission fees.
Kandhamal district Collector Dr Brundha D met Karishma and her mother and assured her of all help from the administration for her higher studies. Besides, several individuals and organisations have come forward to help the girl.
