'Adha-Adha': Transgender's plight moves audience

Published on:

If one believes God's creations are the most beautiful ones, they should have their share, as they are too created by  God. But no, they are still struggling to overcome the social boundaries. They are transgenders.

“Adha-Adha”, the second play of Manana Theatre Festival is the story of Sanjay who becomes known as Sanjana. Sanjay is the only son of Managovindababu, an industrialist. As years pass by, Sanjay develops feminine activities.

Dinesh Das, the writer and director of the play, donned the protagonist Sanjana’s character. His endeavour of putting himself in the shoe of a transgender earned appreciation of the audience.

The stage perfectly replicated a slum, while light management and music were worth mentioning in making the play success.
