Sub-Divisional Magistrate-cum-Sub-Collector of Kendrapada Kahnu Charan Dhir has issued a show-cause notice to Additional Tehsildar of Pattamundai Golekh Nayak for not carrying out order and negligence in duty.
Nayak had been asked on Wednesday by the SDM to remain present at Haladia village as Executive Magistrate to maintain law and order situation. He also telephoned Nayak several times to go to the spot where tension had erupted. But, Nayak did not oblige.
Dhir said, “I repeatedly telephoned to the Additional Tehsildar of Pattamundai to go to Haladia village for maintaining law and order situation but ironically, the latter did not pay any heed to my direction.”
The show-cause notice was issued against Nayak, directing him to submit his reply within three days, else necessary departmental action would be initiated against him.
When contacted, district Collector Muralidhar Mallik stated, “let the reply come from the Additional Tehsildar of Pattamundai and later necessary action would be taken against the errant official for not carrying out the direction of the higher-ups.”
