After Ollywood actors Mihir Das and Anu Choudhury, actress Mahasweta Ray has decided to follow in their footsteps and join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
BJP spokesperson Pitambar Acharya on Sunday said Maheswata would join the BJP on Monday at the party’s headquarters here in the presence of Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan and other senior State party leaders.
Acharya claimed that women in the State are ready to join the BJP in large numbers due to the increasing cases of violence and atrocities against them under the BJD Government.
He said the BJD’s “Gaon ku Kama, Maa ku Samman” campaign has just remained a slogan.
Actress Ray said she is impressed with the works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi; and she is interested to work for the BJP interest. She further said that whatever assignment the party would assign her, she would fulfil it.
