Actress files complaint against 6 of Ollywood

Television actress Sarmistha Priyadarshini on Sunday filed a complaint against six persons, including a woman producer and her husband, in the Ollywood industry at the Mahila police station here accusing them of exploiting, intimidating and also asking her to ‘compromise’ if she wanted to get a major role in serial.

The 25-year-old actress lodged the complaint a day after a social organisation filed a complaint against BJD leader and actor Tatwa Prakash Satapathy alias Papu Pompom at the Mahila Police Station accusing him of exploiting and intimidating a minor girl under the pretext of giving her break in the industry.

She filed the complaint against directors Tapas Sargaria and Chandi Parija, event manager Bapi Jena, producer Subrat Naik, tele serial producer Nihar Samal and also his producer wife Bini Samal for sending lewd texts on social media platforms, WhatsApp, Facebook seeking sexual favours and threatening her of dire consequences if she makes them public.

The actress, in her complaint, alleged that Bapi Jena was forcing her to spend night with her in hotel.

Besides, she alleged that Chandi Parija and Bini Samal were threatening her to throw out of television serials if she did not give in to their demands of ‘compromise’.

“They even threatened me to ruin my career and eliminate me. Action should be initiated against these persons for what they have done with me. They should be punished,” said she.

“Nihar Samal threatened to eliminate me as I lodged a FIR against him at the lingaraj police station,” said the actress.

Notably, Tapas Sargaria, Bapi Jena and Subrat Naik had earlier vehemently denied the allegations.

Now, the regional film industry is mired in a controversy over casting couch and alleged links with tainted chit fund companies.
