An Ollywood actor’s wife allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping into the Mahanadi from the CDA Madhusudan bridge here on Sunday afternoon. Receiving information, police reached the spot and rescuedwoman. Police said the woman is the wife of actor Amlan Das and daughter-in-law of veteran actor Mihir Das. Initially, some passerby and locals spotted the woman parking her two-wheeler on the bridge and jumping off into the river. They then informed the police who reached the spot within a few minutes.
With the help of locals, the police rescued the woman. “I had accompanied my wife onto the Madhusudan Setu. While I was speaking over phone inside my vehicle, I saw my wife slipped from the bridge and falling while pouring materials into water,” Amlan said.
