The Odisha Soochana Adhikaar Abhiyan and the Arthika Sansthamanankadwara Ksatigrastanka Milita Manch on Tuesday demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi make a clear statement as to why the ongoing CBI probe into multi-crore chit fund scam has slowed down in Odisha at his June 2Baleswar meeting.

Addressing a Press Conference, Abhiyan State convenor Pradip Pradhan and Milita Mancha convenor Jayant Das said the Prime Minister need to make clear cut statement in this regard as there has been allegations that understanding between the BJP and the BJD has led to such a situation.

Similarly, they also demanded that the Prime Minister make an announcement as to when the Union Government would allow a CBI probe into the multi-crore mining scam in Odisha as per the recommendation of the MB Shah Commission.

“Union Minister Jual Oram and other senior leaders of the BJP had promised that, if the party comes to power, the CBI would probe the mining scam. But when over two years have passed since the BJP-led Narendra Modi Government came to power at the Centre, the promise is yet to be implemented, they said.
