The chit fund firms used the fair sex for alluring investors. In some cases, they sexually exploited girls and women who were used as recruits with high salaries, alleged activist Jayanta Kumar Das. Questioning the mysterious silence of the social and women activists in the State over the exploitation of girls by chit fund operators and mafia, Das urged that the injustice meted out to many innocent girls and women be brought to the fore and the culprits booked.

“Reports have confirmed that chit fund mafia engaged girls to blackmail influential persons. But at the same time, the same girls were exploited sexually; their nude films too were shot. later, these girls were blackmailed,” alleged Das, who demanded that the women bodies should come forward to fight against the injustice and save the victims. Das also demanded that the CBI should probe this aspect of operation of the chit fund firms in the State.

Das asked, “Why the so-called social activists who have played a major role in exposing many politicians for harassing and exploiting female Government servants, are not raising the issue of exploitation of women by the chit fund firmsIJ” Even Seashore recruited young girls as branch managers and appointed them with several designations with high salary (not less than `80,000 monthly). The company’s Mumbai office used to be run by only female staff, said Das.
